Today is the day that I finally embark on an exciting change of direction in my life. This year I promised myself that I would push my photography as a hobby further than I ever have before. New camera, new books, new ambitions, and a new website.
My previous photography experiences have been quite humble. I have never tried to make a business out of it. For me, it has been just something to keep me busy while on holiday. To also, distance myself from the unique stresses of work. My first camera was a Sony A65 DSLR which I purchased from eBay. It was a great camera that allowed me to sink my teeth into the photography universe. It came with a single KIT lens and that’s it. To be fair at that point that was all I needed. That camera served me well and was recently sold to a chap in Ireland for his son as his starter camera. I now have a Sony Alpha A7iii which is a stonkingly good camera, probably a little too much for my current capabilities, though I do intend (well hope) to grow into it.
There have been several people who have been an inspiration to me over the years. First of all my dad and brother have always been into their photography. But I also have to mention the photography Youtubers such as Mike Smith, Kai Wong, Nigel Danson, and Serge Ramelli. Who have each played their part when putting countless hours of research into the subject. I have also picked up a number of editing tips from the Photoshop Training Channel and PiXmperfect. In my opinion 2 of the very best free photoshop classes on YouTube, I have come across. Everything I know about photography, photoshop, and image manipulation has come from all of these amazing people in some way shape or form.
The idea behind this website is to allow me to share my experiences, my future plans and any tidbits of knowledge I gather while traversing the long road that is ahead of me. With that too, I also have a few surprises coming up in the future, so stay tuned for that as well. I feel it is going to be an exciting adventure.
